Welcome to the Gulf Youth Chamber Music Society!
I have been playing violin for almost 10 years now and have been a concertmaster of Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra for also almost 6 years. In 2014, I created an organization called First Key Initiative (www.firstkey.org), after I had learned that there were no music classes in the schools where I volunteered. Initially, I simply started teaching violin & music theory, but then I started performing for local schools and various charity organizations. Most of our chamber members generously supported those concerts by volunteering to perform (and so I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members again). During those concerts, we all performed our own solo pieces and I strongly believe that it was a beautiful experience for everyone. Then, during last summer in 2017, I was accepted to participate in a 'Chamber Week' at the Peabody Institute @ Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. For the first time, I truly experienced what chamber music means and I found myself really enjoying performing along with similar-minded student musicians. Consequently, at the end of the program, I thought to myself, “Why not in Dubai? Why not in the U.A.E? Why not in the Gulf region?”. After these realizations, I started talking about my wish to form a chamber group with my parents, my teachers, and friends. It started as a simple desire of performing chamber music with friends, but now it has become official, with members and a name. I am quite overwhelmed with all the amazing support coming in for this chamber project. Especially, I cannot thank Dr. Khawla Al Saadi, (the chairwoman of Emirates Autism Society) enough. Thanks to her encouragement and guidelines, I was able to set up my simple idea as a proper organization. I also really appreciate Ms. Gulmira Abdukhalikova, who has been the biggest advocate of my charity work and who also made this project a reality. Lastly, I would like to dedicate all the credit to my violin teacher, Mr. Riad Kudsi (the director of National Conservatory - Dubai, Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra) who has been teaching me for last 10 years. He is my personal hero and a role model who has been teaching me not only violin skills but also how to be a passionate & disciplined musician. His contagious passion for music has definitely been transferred to me and I would love to share it with the world.
This is our humble beginning but I sincerely hope that the Gulf Youth Chamber Music Society is going to last for a long time providing platforms for youth musicians to experience Chamber Music even though they are from different music schools or even different countries and it will always support charitable organizations for all worthy causes by volunteering to perform for their events. By doing so, I wish that it will contribute a great deal to development of Classical Music Culture among youth in this region. As a result, I wish that, ultimately, all these chamber music experience will make us better musicians and more responsible citizens who always give back to the community we live in!
Truly Honored,
